The Stanford University doctoral graduate also holds an honorary degree from the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Far Eastern Studies. At various times throughout his career, he has lived in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

As with all ELF programs, Lampton's presentation is not a public event. Interested members of the news media are invited to attend, however. To assure adequate seating, media representatives are asked to telephone (662) 325-8406 or e-mail jr1@ra.msstate.edu as soon as possible in advance.
