Ashlee Kalina of Ross, Texas, readies her horse Sancho for the Horse Poor Barrel Races at the Mississippi Horse Park. The races are being held in conjunction with the three-day 2014 Better Barrel Racing Eastern Regional Finals, which will see more than 130 contestants run down the horse park alley this weekend for their chance to qualify for RFD-TV's "The American." Taking place next March in Dallas, Texas, the event sponsored by Polaris Ranger is often described as the world's richest one-day rodeo, paying out $2 million to the day's victors and more than $500,000 in prizes.
