Beautiful pink flowers bloom on one of the crepe myrtle trees surrounding Bell Island. Donated in 1995 by MSU alum and longtime commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce Jim Buck Ross, the Bell on display in the center of campus actually is a replica of the original Chapel Bell that was destroyed by a falling oak tree in the early 1960s.
