Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine student Grace Skaff demonstrates a mock surgery using a toy stuffed animal to attentive school children during the college's 29th annual Open House Friday. Skaff explained that pets sometimes ingest surprising objects which have to be surgically removed. The demonstration was among many learning opportunities, including a petting zoo, animal shows, microchip scanning demonstrations, animal hospital and classroom tours, and veterinary displays.
