Biochemistry major Shannon Kate Thompson of Picayune studies in McCool Hall. In recognition of her research, she recently received an honorable mention from the national Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program. Thompson's work focuses on fundamental questions in mammalian reproduction and genomics.
