Bulldog split end Terrell Grindle and a University of Memphis defender both had designs on the pigskin during Monday nights nationally televised football game from Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field. In addition to defeating the Tennessee Tigers 30-10, the Mississippi State team wore white helmets for the first time in a campus game since the mid 1960s. (The new helmets actually debuted New Years Eve at the Independence Bowl.)
