Famous Maroon Band members Justin Robinson and Greg King wanted to give football game days a little more kick. It's not that they thought there was anything wrong with the festivities already taking place at the Junction; they just figured there was always room for more entertainment for the fans.

With that in mind, the high school friends from Collierville, Tenn., sought approval from director of bands Elva Kaye Lance to form Game Day Brass.

In the short time since, Game Day Brass has grown to a 50-member horn line that performs to the delight of fans waiting for kick off.

Meeting at the Junction about three hours prior to game time, the horn section fires up the crowd by playing the MSU alma mater and fight song, as well as a number of classical pieces in unique arrangements.

"You can create some really powerful music with brass instruments," Justin said. "We thought it would be a cool experience for the fans and add a little more excitement to the other festivities."
