Sisters Mary Guinn, a systems analyst in ITS, and Carolyn Atkinson, an administrative assistant in the department of philosophy and religion, have spent a combined 41 years serving Mississippi State in their respective jobs.
Over the years-28 for Mary and 13 for Carolyn-the siblings have become strong supporters of MSU athletics, often traveling to away games to cheer on the young athletes who wear the maroon and white for the baseball, basketball, football, and softball teams.
As a result of their keen interest in MSU sports, the pair has accumulated an extensive collection of MSU game wear, souvenirs and collectibles.
Ask both to describe the best part of supporting the Bulldogs, and you're likely to get the same answer.
"You feel like you're a part of something bigger than yourself," Mary said. "We are all a part of an extended family where we make new friendships every day with people who love the university. When we go to sporting events, it's like a family reunion, and every year, more people become part of the family!"
