In order to complete some additional construction tasks at the new addition to Davis-Wade Stadium, it was necessary to close Barr Avenue earlier today [Sept. 23] on the campus of Mississippi State University.
âAfter consulting with the contractor and the MSU Athletics Department, the plan is that Barr Avenue be closed until Friday [Sept. 26]â said MSU Director of Facilities Dan Whatley.
The $75 million expansion and renovation project increased capacity to 61,337, provided additional premium seating, elevators, restrooms and concessions, and a completely new west side concourse. Construction began in August 2012. The newly-expanded DWS officially opened on August 30.
