STARKVILLE, Miss.--Residents of Golden Triangle communities are invited to a free Dec. 4 Christmas concert by the Starkville-Mississippi State University Symphony Orchestra.
The annual Criss Christmas Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in downtown Starkville.
The first half of the program features a performance of the "Concerto Grosso No. 4" and "Organ Concerto in B Flat" by George Handel and a contemporary work by Brazilian composer Ney Rousauro.
For the second half, interested members of the audience are being invited to join the MSU Concert Choir in singing the four most popular choruses from Handel's "Messiah." Those interested in participating should plan on attending a 6 p.m. rehearsal and, if possible, bring a copy of the famous work.
The program is sponsored by the J. W. Criss Foundation.
