MEDIA ADVISORY: Congressman keynoting MSU town hall meeting on energy Sept. 27

Third District Congressman Gregg Harper (R-Miss.) will keynote a town hall meeting on energy at Mississippi State's Bost Theater Monday, Sept. 27. The Partnership for Affordable Clean Energy (PACE) and the university's Sustainable Energy Research Center (SERC) are sponsoring the two-hour public event.

President Mark Keenum will welcome participants and audience members to the land-grant institution at 6 p.m., followed by the congressman's keynote address. At 6:30 p.m., the first of two panel sessions will begin.

In session one, MSU SERC director Glenn Steele will moderate a discussion of energy efficiency and emerging technologies with MSU Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems director Roger King, TVA Mississippi delivery manager David Sparks, and SERC associate director Rafael Hernandez.

Session two features a discussion of energy resources and impacts moderated by PACE executive director Lance Brown with government affairs adviser Jennifer Diggins, Mississippi Power vice president for generation development Tommy Anderson, and Working People for Fair Energy director Charles Steele Jr.

The meeting will conclude with a question-and-answer period.
