An internationally prominent floral designer will visit Mississippi State April 8 to lead special lectures for students and faculty members in the university's floral design and related courses.
Jacqueline Headecker, co-owner of Toronto-based Wisteria Floral Design, will be at the University Florist on University Drive from 9:30-10:30 a.m. She will be discussing ikebana, the traditional Japanese floral design process.
Headecker, whose client list includes numerous celebrities and dignitaries, is a member of the American Institute of Floral Designers and past president of Flowers Canada. The winner of many awards, she has been both coach and participant at different times in the Interflora World Cup Competition. (For more, visit www.wisteriafloraldesign.com/aboutus.php.)
Sponsored by the MSU AIFD student chapter, her campus presentations will not be open to the general public. Interested members of the news media and ikebana societies are invited to attend, however.
Reporters and floral design enthusiasts interested in attending should contact associate professor Jim DelPrince, in advance, at 662-325-3585 or jdelprince@pss.msstate.edu.
