STARKVILLE, Miss.--In a special Sunday [Feb. 28] university concert, bands from Mississippi State and the community will perform a range of musical selections.
To begin at 3 p.m. in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium, the free program features the MSU Campus and Symphonic bands, along with the Starkville/MSU Community Band.
Cliff Taylor and Craig Aarhus, associate and assistant directors of MSU Bands, respectively, will conduct.
"The bands will play a variety of pieces from traditional to contemporary to pop," Aarhus said.
The campus band is open to all students, regardless of major, while community band members are enrolled in a course offered by the band office and MSU's Division of Academic Outreach and Continuing education.
The student symphonic band's repertoire includes a mix of wind instrumental and pop arrangements.
