STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State students in communication and related fields are being invited to take part Feb. 17 in the 2010 Communication Career Fair on campus.

Sponsored by the university's communication department, the midweek come-and-go event will be held noon-3 p.m. in the Colvard Student Union's Foster Ballroom.

Now in its the fourth year, the popular free-to-students program is designed to pair academic majors in broadcasting, communication studies, journalism, public relations, theater, sports communication, and other areas with potential employers.

Department head John Forde said representatives of media organizations and related businesses, as well as graduate and law schools, interested in interviewing students still have time to register.

The $75 early registration deadline for participating organizations is Feb. 15. For more details, visit www.career.msstate.edu/employers/events/cdays/comm08ei.php.

"This event is for currently enrolled college students, not just those who are about to graduate," Forde said. "In addition to looking their best, students should bring their resumes and portfolios."
