STARKVILLE, Miss.--The 2008-09 Fact Book of Mississippi State University is held in high regard by regional professionals in the field of institutional research.

Published annually by MSU's Office of Institutional Research, the publication recently garnered top honors at the Southern Association of Institutional Research's annual conference in Dallas, Texas. It finished first in the Best Mini-Fact Book category and second in Best Fact Book.

Over the past five years, the MSU Fact Book has received a total of seven major association honors--including four first-place awards. In addition to a 97-page spiral-bound edition, the OIR provides a business card-size disk and an online link at www.ir.msstate.edu.

Beginning with a "Quick Glance" section, the annual university report features eight major sections that provide a vast assortment of data on enrollment, students, employees, and resources, among other areas.

MSU is a member of the Mississippi Association of Institutional Research that represents 18 community, junior and senior college campuses, as well as the State Institutions of Higher Learning office in Jackson.
