NEW MSU GWIN SCHOLARS

Contact: Sammy McDavid

Two seniors and two graduate students are the 2009-10 Howell Gwin Scholars in English at Mississippi State University. A memorial to the 25-year English department faculty member for whom it's named, the academic recognition program was established in 1982 by Elizabeth Smith Gwin of Starkville (center), his widow. Receiving $400 awards are (from left) senior Molly Hartzog of Terry, graduate students Raquel L. Hollingsworth of Forest and Ja'Net K. Blackmon of Greenwood, and senior Meredith L. Burnett of Holly Springs.
