STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State is joining with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security to hold a special Oct. 7 information-sharing program for military veterans.

"Veterans Education, Benefits and Training Assistance Night" is being organized by officials of MDES and the university's G.V. "Sonny" Montgomery Center for America's Veterans.

The program takes place 5-7 p.m. at the state agency's WIN Job Center, which is located between Starkville and Columbus at 5000 North Frontage Rd. The road is accessed easily from the four-lane U.S. Highway 82 corridor linking the two Golden Triangle cities.

"This event is set up as a 'one-stop shop' for veterans to get information and assistance in the areas of benefits, services, education, training, and employment opportunities," said David Blair, the Montgomery Center's outreach coordinator.
