STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's director of golf is being honored by the Callaway Golf Co.

Anthony L. "Tony" Luczak, also coordinator of the university golf course, is receiving the international company's Club Fitter of the Year Award/Southwest Region. He is being recognized for achievements using a Callaway Golf Custom Fitting cart at the public facility.

Honorees are selected on the basis of personal nominations and the use of innovative methods to support the company and its Custom Fitting programs, among other criteria.

Two years later, he became a Professional Golfers Association member and went on to receive the Northeastern New York PGA Teacher of the Year Award and inclusion among "Top Instructors" in both Golf and Golf Digest magazines, among other recognitions.

The par-72 MSU course is a Division of Student Affairs unit located three miles east of campus on state Highway 182. Designed by Brian Ault, it is ranked among the top 30 collegiate facilities of its kind in the U.S.
