STARKVILLE, Miss.--Starkville native Nathan Moore is the new director of development for Mississippi State's College of Architecture, Art and Design.

Moore officially assumes the position Tuesday [July 1]. He succeeds Bennett Evans, who recently took a similar position with the university's Bagley College of Engineering.

"In his new role, Nathan will raise funds for the college and assist with alumni activities," said Bo Hemphill, the MSU Foundation's executive director of development. "His knowledge and previous experience with Mississippi State make him a great asset to our development team and the college."

Moore, a Starkville High School graduate, moves from MSU's Division of Student Affairs, where he has worked for the past five years. After serving as an admissions counselor, he was, most recently, assistant director of the admissions and scholarships office.

"I'm honored to have been able to help advance Mississippi State through student recruitment," Moore said. "Now, working with the MSU Foundation will provide an exciting new experience that enables me to continue improving the institution that I love."

A 2002 MSU political science graduate, he currently is pursuing a master's degree in public policy and administration.

The College of Architecture, Art and Design includes the School of Architecture and its Carl Small Town Center; department of art; and the interior design academic program.
