MSU information units score big in state collegiate PR competition

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Public communication units at Mississippi State University are winners of some 30 top creative awards presented this year by the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi.

At the organization's 2008 spring conference held in Tunica, the Office of Agricultural Communication took the 2008 Grand Award in Electronic Media, while the Office of University Relations received a similar honor in the print media category. The electronic media award recognized the OAC's long-running "Farmweek" television series, while the print category award spotlighted the UR-produced "2007 President's Report: The State of State," a 24-page, full-color publication.

The two public information offices on the Starkville campus, along with the University Relations Office at MSU-Meridian, also received other honors in CPRAM's senior division. They include, by categories:

RADIO SPOTS: MSU-M, first place, "Next Stage of Your Life"; second place, "Earn Your Degree In-State" and "Bulldog Nation"; and third place, "Dawg Days of Summer."
