STARKVILLE, Miss.--Nearly 70 top business students at Mississippi State are new members of the university's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.

Membership is limited to College of Business and Industry majors ranking in the top 10 percent of bachelor's degree and top 20 percent of master's degree programs.

The newly inducted MSU students join a network of more than 560,000 current and future professionals who are completing their studies in a program accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Beta Gamma Sigma was founded in 1913 as a national organization recognizing academic achievement in the study of any business field. Collegiate chapters now are located on five continents.

In addition to students, three MSU faculty members were inducted at the conclusion of the 2008 spring semester. They included interim associate dean Kevin E.
