A small group of high school students from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians will be on the Mississippi State campus Friday [April 25] to learn more about the fields of criminal justice and political science.
Members of the Choctaw TEEN Court System, the students will be making their visit from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. While touring the academic departments, they will meet with faculty advisers to discuss possible future enrollment at the university.
MSU's Young Guns Leadership Development Program and the Central Mississippi-based band of Native Americans have become partners in a summer cultural exchange camp. Participants split time between the Neshoba County reservation and the MSU Riley Center in Meridian.
The campus visit is being organized by Andrew Jones, MBCI division coordinator, and Kelly Rice, program coordinator for the MSU Leadership Programs. For additional information, contact Rice at 662-325-2208 or kam142@saffairs.msstate.edu.
