STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's 21st annual Insurance Day program will be held April 2 at the university's Bost Extension Center auditorium and theater.
Attorney David Rossmiller of Portland, Ore., managing editor of www.insurancecoverageblog.com, will be the featured speaker.
Sponsored by the College of Business and Industry's Peter K. Lutken Chair of Insurance, the daylong program includes a series of assemblies and continuing education sessions. The college's risk management, insurance and financial planning program is co-sponsor of the event that begins with a 7:40 a.m. registration.
A former award-winning newspaper reporter, Rossmiller blogs most weekdays on insurance litigation, industry developments and other related topics. In recent months, he has given continuing attention to the federal government's investigation of Richard "Dickie" Scruggs, the former high-profile Mississippi attorney, and others in and around the criminal case.
Each spring, MSU Insurance Day programs attract some 500 professionals. They include insurance company attorneys and claims adjusters and agents, as well as fire investigators, legislators, municipal and county managers, and law enforcement officials.
Veteran faculty member Edwin L. Duett Jr. holds the Lutken endowed professorship.
