Keep an eye on energy savings as winter drags on

With almost two months left until spring, our conservation efforts are critical. The weather forecast shows continued low temperatures which will drive our natural gas consumption even higher, and as demand increases, so does the price of natural gas. In the sustained colder weather our natural gas has historically cost the university $350,000 to $450,000 per month. We ask that you continue to adhere to the 70 degree heating setpoint and our night setback routines. If your space remains cool for the first hour or so, extra clothing to keep warm will allow us to continue to setback in an effort to minimize gas consumption.
