STARKVILLE, Miss.--Works for two pianos will be featured in a Monday [Nov. 21] faculty artist concert at Mississippi State.
Rosangela Sebba, a university teacher of piano technique and literature, will be joined by guest artist Jeff Myers in THE 2005-06 Lyceum Faculty Chamber Series. Their recital begins at 7:30 p.m. in the McComas Hall theater.
Tickets for the program titled "An International Pianist and Friends" are $5 and may be purchased at the door.
Among selections are Mozart's Sonata in D Major K.V. 448, Gershwin's "Three Preludes" and a special arrangement for two pianos of Rachmaninoff's "Suite N.2, Op. 27."
A national prizewinner in her native Brazil, Sebba earned a bachelor's degree at Universidade Federal de Goias-Brazil, a master's at the University of Wyoming and a doctorate at the University of Southern Mississippi.
She is founder and coordinator of MSU's Brazilian Music Festival and has been featured in "Who's Who in America" in 2004 and 2005.
For the past 16 years, Myers has taught class and studio piano, music appreciation and theory at Itawamba Community College. He is an accompanist for the ICC Concert Choir, and a member of the Tupelo Symphony Orchestra and "Stars Over Mississippi" Band. He also has performed in the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.
He holds bachelor's and master's degrees, respectively, from the universities of Mississippi and University of Miami (Fla.).
