STARKVILLE, Miss.--A 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. gathering Saturday [Oct. 1] will help introduce Mississippi State's international student community to the fun of pre-game tailgating.

The International Student Affairs Committee of the university's Student Association has joined with the campus' international services office to invite both MSU and visiting Louisiana State University students to the picnic. The meal precedes the 1:30 p.m. kickoff of the

MSU-LSU football game at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

The International Tailgate tent will be located in front of the State Fountain Bakery, said Lokesh Shivakumaraiah, SA international student affairs director.

"Our committee represents international students from 75 countries at MSU," the India native said. "The tailgating party is just one of many activities we conduct to provide recreation, as well as promoting camaraderie and cultural exchange between American and international students."
