MSU Katrina-relief blood drive to be held Monday

Contact: Maridith Geuder

STARKVILLE, Miss.--Rescheduled following last weekend's tornado, a Monday [Oct. 3] blood drive at Mississippi State will help benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The 9 a.m.-5 p.m. collection in Bost Extension Center is part of the "Bulldogs in Response" program to focus university resources on areas of need. The task force is chaired by MSU first lady Pat Lee.

Those who registered online for the previously announced blood drive will maintain their original time slots for the rescheduled event. Those unable to donate or wishing to change the time of their appointment may make the necessary corrections at www.bloodhero.com [sponsor code: MSUBIR].

Because of the initial overwhelming response, additional time slots have been added to accommodate others who wish to donate blood.

Collections made at MSU will be part of United Blood Services' continuing service to those affected both during and after the hurricane.
