Mississippi State will hold five orientation sessions during June for freshmen and transfer students enrolling this fall at the university.
Three two-day programs for freshmen and two one-day programs for transfer students are scheduled. In addition to advance class scheduling, students--and their parents--will have the opportunity to meet faculty members and administrators, as well as students already enrolled.
Dates of the two-day 2002 freshman sessions are June 8 and 9, 13 and 14, and 22 and 23. Transferring students should plan to visit June 7 and 21. Parents attend separate, concurrent sessions on these days.
Last year's total attendance was nearly 4,500.
"We strongly encourage all new students to attend orientation," said Bryan Nesbit, associate director of enrollment services. "These sessions have proven to be the most time-efficient method for high school and community college graduates and their parents to become quickly familiar with the Mississippi State and Starkville communities."
