Nearly 200 businesses, professional schools and graduate programs will be represented Sept. 19-20 when Mississippi State holds Fall Semester Career Days.

Approximately 1,300 university students are expected to take part in the noon-4 p.m. daily sessions at Humphrey Coliseum. The American Cast Iron Pipe Co., Chevron, Mississippi College School of Law, J.C. Penney, U.S. Air Force Officer Recruiting, and WorldCom are among off-campus entities being represented.

The early semester event is one of several organized throughout the year by the MSU Career Services office. Helping prepare students for the next level of their professional lives is the common goal of all the programs.

In October, for example, the office is sponsoring a dinner etiquette workshop that combines a five-course meal with valuable tips on formal business dining. Nearly 100 students have enrolled to date.

Education Interview Day and Architecture/Interior Design Fair are among several other special programs taking place during each school year.
