Seminars offered for professional tax preparers

If Christmas is just around the corner, income tax forms can't be far behind.

To help professional tax preparers get the latest information on new government regulations affecting their customers, Mississippi State University is sponsoring a series of seminars around the state in late November and early December. Participants can qualify for six hours of professional education credit.

Led by accounting professor Zoel Daughtrey, the in-service training is part of the extension program of the College of Business and Industry's Division of Business Services.

Also heading sessions during the 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. seminars will be state Tax Commission representatives Kathleen H. Carnathan and Jacqueline A. Vassar, as well as a representative from the federal Internal Revenue Service.
