B.O.L.D. Conference to be held

Some 150 high school and college students from around the region are expected Nov. 14-16 at Mississippi State University for the ninth annual Black Outreach in Leadership Development Conference.

"Working Together to Face the Challenges of an Ever-Changing Society" is the theme for this year's meeting.

The university's Richard Holmes Cultural Diversity Center is conference host.

Two prominent figures in the state's commercial television business will be featured speakers on the 15th. John Johnson, news director at WTOK-TV in Meridian, will deliver the opening address at 8 a.m. in the Colvard Union small auditorium.

Frank Melton, president and chief executive officer of WLBT-TV in Jackson, will be keynote speaker for a banquet later that day in the Union ballroom.

A series of leadership training workshops will be held in various Union meeting rooms.
