Art exhibit features works of three students

An art exhibition by three Mississippi State seniors will be on display Nov. 20-Dec. 3 at the university's McComas Hall Gallery.

The thesis exhibition will feature the works of Joseph A. Barnes of Ocean Springs, Mark A. Buckner of Greenville and Gwendolyn R. Magee of Clinton. All are completing work on bachelor of fine arts degrees.

A public reception for the artists will be held 7-9 p.m. on the 21st at the gallery.

Barnes, whose emphasis is sculpture and ceramics, is a graduate of Ocean Springs High School and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Buckner, an O'Bannon High School graduate, has specialized in painting. He plans to continue his training in graduate school.

Magee is a Clinton High School graduate who has focused her talents on ceramic vessels and oil paintings. She plans to further her education in a graduate graphic arts program and continue to pursue a career in ceramics.

The McComas Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 -p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday.
