Williams C. Davis, civil war author, editor, consultant and commentator, will present "Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis as Chief Executives" for Mississippi State's Frank and Virginia Williams Annual Lecture on Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies.
Admission is free and open to the public.
Davis is the author of more than 60 books on the Civil War and Southern history and an on-camera consultant for commercial and public television programs, including the “Civil War Journal,” “The Blue and the Gray,” “George Washington” and “Fields of Lost Shoes.”
He retired in 2013 as professor of history and executive director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. He is the only four-time winner of the Jefferson Davis Award given for book-length works in Confederate and Civil War History.
