Mississippi State University will host the 2017 Manufacturing Summit, bringing together state leaders and MSU experts who will offer information and insight to decision-makers in the manufacturing sector. Keynote speaker Jay Moon, president and CEO of the Mississippi Manufacturers Association, will discuss economic development in the 21st century. Ryan Annison, state director for the office of Senator Roger Wicker, will forecast what to expect in revised regulations under new federal leadership. James Vardaman, associate professor in MSU’s College of Business, will discuss millennial employees. Chad Miller, director for the University of Southern Mississippi’s Center for Logistics Trade and Transportation, will discuss the impact of bringing jobs back on transportation and economic development. Garrett McInnis, vice president of development for the Mississippi Energy Institute, will highlight a successful model for raising career awareness. Josh Bower, director of workforce education for the Mississippi Community College Board, will provide information on the Mississippi Apprenticeship Program. Additionally, an industry-led panel on regaining the manufacturing edge will be moderated by Jack McDougle, founder and CEO of BluTre Strategies LLC. Click the "Link" below for more information.
