Join MSU's Department of Art for an opening reception celebrating its newest exhibit! On display March 3-29, "Silk Unraveled" provides a glimpse at the history and importance of silk from its origins to the modern age. Through its intriguing history associated with luxury, comfort, and visual appeal, silk is a material that continues to fascinate people. Objects from Mississippi State University's museum collections highlight the interdisciplinary research and impact of silk. Participating collections include the Lois Dowdle Cobb Museum of Archaeology, MSU Entomological Museum, MSU Herbarium, and the MSU Historic Costume and Textiles Collection. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
