About this event

Join The Language Research Group (LRG) at Mississippi State for its presentation of Dr. Ginger Pizer's working paper, “The Point of Dancing: The Use of Deictic Gestures in Ballroom Dance Instruction." The LRG brings together university scholars who have an interest in language as both an object of study and tool for investigating social, psychological and philosophical issues. Members of the LRG are experts in such fields as linguistics, psychology, education, philosophy, anthropology, sociology and communication, among others, and bring diverse perspectives to the discussion of language as a communicative system and resource. The goal of the group is to provide a venue for faculty and student scholars working on and with language and discourse to present their research and promote collaborative, interdisciplinary work.
