Three Minute Thesis Competition

November 12, 2015 - 7:00 pm

About this event

An 80,000 word thesis would take nine hours to present. During the university's third annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, nearly 60 Mississippi State graduate students will have less than three minutes to convey months to years of complex research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Master's and doctoral students will compete in categories including arts and humanities; life and biomedical sciences and engineering; physical, mathematical, computational sciences and engineering; and social and behavioral sciences. Winners will receive cash prizes. They include: Grand Champion: $1,000; Grand Champion Runner-Up: $750; and People's Choice Award: $500. Each of the eight category winners will receive $250.
